Our Team
CapitalGroup operates as a flat organisational structure, with each member of the team contributing their values and skillset to the growth and success of the company. We are a collective of highly experienced individuals with extensive knowledge across banking, finance and investment.
After graduating from Auckland University with an Economics degree, Greig worked for NZI Bank and HSBC. He later joined Countrywide Banking Corporation Limited, which led him to the Bank of Scotland's corporate division in London.
In 1996 Greig co-founded CapitalGroup with Phillip Bell. He leads investments in residential subdivisions, apartments, retail and commercial developments and is a director of First Mortgage Managers Limited. He is married with three children.
Phillip commenced his business career in 1983, with roles in commercial banking at Countrywide Bank in Auckland and investment banking with Hill Samuel in London. He has degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of Auckland.
In 1996, he co-founded CapitalGroup with Greig Allison. Phillip is involved in the origination, structuring and management of clients and transactions. He is also a director of First Mortgage Managers Limited. Phillip is married with three children.
Tim graduated from The University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Property Administration in 1990. He joined CapitalGroup when it was formed in 1996, after working locally in the property sector and in London for a large organisation’s finance department.
Tim has significant property finance experience after more than two decades of arranging and managing transactions across all property sectors. He is married with three children.
Tim graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Engineering and a postgraduate Diploma of Business in Finance. He worked as a consulting civil engineer and a project manager for a listed property company, before commencing a 17-year career at Westpac.
Tim joined CapitalGroup in 2010. He is responsible for managing the retail mortgage loan book as well as originating and managing a variety of mezzanine loan positions. Tim is married with two children.
Following his double degree from the University of Otago in Commerce and Property, Dan worked for KPMG, where he gained entry into the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He then worked in various roles across the property finance sector, including four years specialising in structured property lending and positions at Lloyds bank in London and the National Bank of New Zealand.
Dan joined CapitalGroup in 2013. He has a strong interest in the outdoors and is married with a young family.
Michael has over ten years of experience with ANZ and BNZ, sourcing finance for commercial property investors and developers. He has a double degree from the University of Auckland in Commerce and Property and has held roles with KPMG’s Corporate Finance division and a private property investment company.
After a long business relationship, Michael joined CapitalGroup in 2017 and is involved with the arrangement and management of transactions. Michael is married with a young family.
